Countywide Finances Repair of Bolivar Community Sign
A donation from the Countywide Recycling and Disposal Facility will pay for the complete refurbishing and repair of the Northern Tuscarawas Valley Community Business Association's Wilkshire Hills sign along State Route 212 in Bolivar - Wilkshire Hills.
Republic Services Donates Over 11,200 meals for the holiday season

Thanks to a donation of over $1,600 to the Akron-Canton Food Bank from Republic Services, a total of 11,200 meals will be served during the holiday season. The donation was made as part of the Food Bank’s “Long Haul Against Hunger” food and funds drive, which takes place each year between October and December. In addition to the donation of over $1,600, Republic employees at the Countywide Landfill in East Sparta, Massillon Hauling Operation, and Akron Recycling Center will collect food for the Food Bank this holiday season. The Long Haul Against Hunger campaign, which began in 1996, has collected over 600,000 pounds of food throughout its history.
Countywide Provides Free Storm Debris Removal to Pike Township

The September 14, 2008, storm which was a result of Hurricane Ike swept through Stark County and
the rest of NE Ohio. As a result, thousands were left without power and the storm's winds, which were
clocked as high as 76 MPH, downed many trees, closed roads, and damaged property. To help the local
community, Countywide allowed Pike Township road crews to bring downed trees to the landfill's composing
facility for free.
Countywide Donates to East Sparta Community Building
During September 2008, we donated over $300 to the East Sparta Community Building restoration
project.
Republic Services Golf Outing Raises Nearly $5,000 for charity


On August 22, 2008, the Tam O'Shanter golf course in Canton was the location for Republic Services annual golf outing.
Nearly $5,000 was raised for:
- The Akron Canton Food Bank
- Sandy Valley Local Schools weight room project
- Cleveland Christian Home
Pike Township Trustees hold monthly meeting at Countywide

The September meeting of the Pike Township trustees was held at the Countywide maintenance garage.
Republic Services/Countywide RDF participates in the Stark Safety Council Business Expo

The annual Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce Stark County Safety Council was held September 11, 2008
at the Meyers Lake Ballroom.
Countywide RDF Partners with the R/C Eagles Club for annual fly-in event
Countywide Recycling and Disposal Facility partnered with the R/C Eagles Model Airplane Club of Massillon
for its 10th annual homecoming fly-in July 13, 2008. The fly-in was held at the R/C Eagles Flying Field located at the Countywide Recycling and Disposal Facility. Countywide also donated a financial contribution and raffle prizes to the R/C Eagles for the fly-in. Additionally, Countywide employees volunteered at an informational booth as part of an effort to educate the public about the landfill.
Countywide Gives out Trees on Earth Day

On Earth Day 2008, Countywide employees handed out 500 tree seedlings to customers.
